DIFFERENT TRAINS GALLERY presents Only When I Laugh - drawings and paintings by England-born/Georgia-based artist Ruth Franklin, April 12 - June 22, 2019
This is the first solo exhibition for this respected local artist in more than a decade. Franklin has kept a studio in Decatur since emigrating from England in 1994, during which time she’s worked full-time as an artist and exhibited internationally, from Nashville to New York to the Netherlands. Her Atlanta debut exhibition was in 1998 at the Vinson Gallery on Decatur Square, making this a kind of homecoming with Shawn Vinson, now a partner and director of Different Trains.
